U13Cup is fully committed to 25th edition
U13Cup gaat vol voor een 25ste editie. Meanwhile, many top international football teams have pledged to participate in the international youth football tournament on 3, 4 and 5 June 2022. The organization is still looking for employees and host families to make the 25thanniversary edition a sporting and organizational hit.
U13Cup has guaranteed top-class international youth football for 24 editions. Three quarters of the current generation of Red Devils played their first international top matches there. A tournament with such a reputation deserves a 25th edition. Unfortunately, the coronavirus has decided differently in the past two years. Now that the corona barometer is gradually pointing in the right direction, the organizers are fully committed to a 25th edition.
International toppers
The first international names have already been registered with PSV Eindhoven, AZ Alkmaar, LOSC Lille, FC Nantes and Bayer Leverkusen. RSC Anderlecht, Club Brugge, KAA Gent, Royal Antwerp FC and STVV represent the top of Belgian youth football. Of course, the own U13Cup team will also be present again. “We want to offer our 10,000-strong connoisseur public top quality for our 25th anniversary”, organizer John De Pauw – who is still withholding four absolute top names – insists.
Host families
Like every year, the organisation is looking for host families. They are responsible for the reception of the young talents during the tournament days. Anyone interested in taking in one or more players can contact Danny Haers on 09 373 40 46, 0473 41 08 52 or viadaniel.haers@tornooibassevelde.be.
Volunteers
In addition, the tournament is also looking for a lot of volunteers to use in the preparation of the tournament and during the tournament days. People who want to help with the set-up, dismantling or during the tournament days themselves can register via info@u13cup.be with a mention of the task they want to take on.
Drawing
The draw for the U13Cup is scheduled for Monday 4 April. The draw traditionally takes place in the community center ‘de Bijenkorf’ in Assenede and is by invitation. The following day, the schedule will be announced immediately through the communication channels of the U13Cup.
Anniversary book
The U13Cup has been the reference in the field of international youth football tournaments for years. The tournament built up a reputation far beyond the national borders. Many international top players, including more than 30 Red Devils, take their first steps on the international football stage. Boys like Charles De Ketelaere and Nikola Storm look back fondly on their passage in Bassevelde in the book. These and other stories will be bundled in a unique anniversary book especially for the 25th edition. The book is presented on the eve of the tournament.
